Exceptional Technical Writing

Master your technical writing skills with our engaging online technical writing course.

Course Details

Course Description

How does your team ensure that its technical reports are concise, readable, and usable?

Technical reports must be clear and often must be written for multiple readers with a variety of  technical expertise and knowledge.

Too often, however, technical reports are a mishmash of  information that aren’t adequate for their intended reader(s).

That, coupled with the fact that  many writers don’t write the sections of the report to convey the appropriate information,  results in reports that are wordy, hard to read, and downright confusing.

Course Aims

Participants will learn how to:

Develop and Implement Effective Writing and Organizational Strategies for Technical Documents

We will empower participants to use our PROS Roadmap™ (purpose, reader, outcome, strategy) framework effectively for planning and writing technical documents. Participants will develop the ability to define the purpose of their documents clearly, identify and analyze their target readers’ needs, outline desired outcomes, and devise strategies to achieve these outcomes.

Enhance Clarity and Precision in Technical Communication

Participants will be trained to refine their language skills so that they can write with precision and clarity. This includes mastering the art of choosing the right words, constructing sentences that convey complex ideas simply, and organizing paragraphs to enhance understanding and retention.

Comprehensive Editing and Proofreading

Participants will learn strategies for systematic review and refinement of their drafts, focusing on improving coherence, logical flow, and overall readability. This includes identifying inconsistencies, rectifying grammatical errors, and ensuring that the document adheres to professional standards.
